Kathryn Bartholomew, Head of Admissions

Katie Bartholomew Enrollment Manager

Hailing from Indiana, Kathryn has a love and affinity for education, performance, and most of all- people. Upon obtaining her Bachelors Degree in Theatre from Purdue University, she set out to act and teach in Los Angeles and Seattle, and then settled into Kansas City, Missouri some years later to gain her Masters of Fine Arts in Acting & Directing from UMKC. Kathryn moved to Chicago in 2009, and had the wonderful experience of working in Administration and Recruiting at Shedd Aquarium for some years. She considers it a great privilege to work with students and their families here at Josephinum. It is a one of a kind community for exceptional young women in the heart of this fantastic city. She cannot wait to tell you more!

Marlen Garcia, Admissions and Alumnae Relations Coordinator

Born and raised in the Windy City, Marlen obtained her Bachelor's degree from DePaul University in Liberal Arts and Sciences, majoring in Sociology and Spanish. While at DePaul, she travelled abroad to conduct a case study in Argentina on substance abuse in adolescence. Additionally, she interned at UIC and travelled to Croatia to present her findings on the effectiveness of civic engagement in the lives of youth. Marlen recently joined Josephinum from a career as a paralegal where she translated for Spanish speaking clients and assisted with their cases. Her love for education, diversity, and social justice brought her to The Jo. She hopes to share her passion for Josephinum Academy with you and encourage you to join our wonderful family!
