Josephinum's Commitment to Equality

Josephinum Academy of the Sacred Heart is devastated by the tragic killing of George Floyd. The heartbreaking, violent actions that led to his death rock our core belief that we are all created equally in God's image. But we know that education is power. God is calling on us now to do more and we will intensify our efforts to act for justice. We are committed to the five goals of the Society of the Sacred Heart. The third goal inspires us to lifelong service and a social awareness which impels to action.

We have vowed to support our students and fellow citizens by raising our voices in a campaign for justice and an end to racist legislation and practices. This campaign will include the following actions involving the Josephinum community –

  • Community Town Hall Meetings
  • Community Surveys
  • Outreach to Elected Officials
  • Opportunities to Donate to Black and Hispanic Non-Profit Organizations
  • Educational Resources for Adults, Teens and Children

We invite our faculty, students, alumnae, and families to join us as we stand up against hatred and violence toward our brothers and sisters. For tools and resources to join our commitment to equality, please visit josephinum.org/equality.
