$4.4 Million in Scholarships Awarded to Josephinum Academy’s 2020 Graduates

Josephinum Academy of the Sacred Heart graduated the 2020 Class of 39 young women in a commencement ceremony at the school on Saturday, June 6. Each graduate received her diploma in a procession that recognized her achievements at the school.

The Class of 2020 proved extraordinary not only in the challenges faced by the students but also in their accomplishments. Valedictorian honors were shared by , Michelle Aguilar-Medina, Kimberly Ornelas and Stephanie Quintana, who graduated with the highest academic standings in the Class. 

“We are beyond proud of our Class of 2020,” said Patti Tuomey, Ed.D., President of Josephinum Academy. “Every one of our girls finished the year strong and is prepared to succeed in college and beyond. Their grace and stamina are unmatched.”

This year’s Josephinum graduates have been accepted to colleges including Concordia University, St. Norbert College, University of Colorado and many others. 

Four students were recognized as Illinois State Scholars. Abigail Adan, Michelle Aguilar-Medina, Lucy Martinez and Lucia Sanchez received the commendation based on an outstanding academic performance.   

Most students who attend Josephinum receive scholarships and financial aid to cover the cost of tuition. Many will be the first in their families to enter college.
