Josephinum looks forward to celebrating Catholic Schools Week, from January 27 through February 1, with our "Spirit Week". At the Jo "Spirit Week" is more than a chance to take a break from our uniforms, but an opportunity to recognize our community and to reflect on how we demonstrate our values.
Monday, January 28 is Pajama Day as well as the day we will show our appreciation for our staff and teachers. The theme for the day is "Learn" as we did during our recent Freshman STEM Fair.
Tuesday, January 29 is Twin Day and we will show appreciation for our founders, the Sisters of Christian Charity, as well as the sisters of the RSCJ. The theme is "Service" and we will share some recent examples of how our Jo girls serve their greater community.
Wednesday, January 30 is Wacky Wednesday and we will show appreciation for the Jo students and our theme will be "Lead." This Fall, our sophomore students demonstrated great leadership skills during Mater Mass. Mater is the celebration among Religious of the Sacred Heart and students in Sacred Heart school that honors the life and spirituality of Mary the mother of Jesus. Students helped plan the service and eleven of them delivered individual prayers in their native languages; including English, Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Yoruba, Polish, Kinyarwanda, and Ukrainian.
Thursday, January 31 is Sports Gear Day and we will show appreciation for our families. The theme is "Succeed" and we will introduce our Posse Scholar, Bianca Berger.
Friday, February 1 is Heritage Day when we will show appreciation for the diverse backgrounds and heritages that make Josephinum such a vibrant community. Our theme as we wrap up this special week of celebration is "Girls Without Limits" and we will honor all of the people that make the Jo community so special! All are also invited to Mass in honor of Black History Month on Friday at 11:15 AM.
