Health and Wellness
The health and wellness of our students and the entire Josephinum community is of paramount importance. Not only do we offer a healthy, nutritious breakfast and lunch to our students every day, but we provide a number of opportunities for our Jo girls to stay active and in charge of their good health throughout the day.
In addition to regular Physical Education classes throughout the school-week, Josephinum offers a wide range of sports, clubs and activities to keep our girls moving and focusing on their health, including:
- Sports teams (volleyball, basketball, soccer and softball)
- Walking path for Walking Club and student/staff's personal use
- Dance Club
- Running Club
- Longboarding Club
- Gardening Club
- Baking Club
Our Health and Wellness policy can be found in our Parent/Student Handbook.
Josephinum Academy's commitment to good health and fitness extends beyond our student and staff with our annual Jo Jamboree Health and Wellness Festival, held every spring. Jo Jamboree is a free, family-oriented celebration of health and fitness that is open to the public. The event also gives us an opportunity to share the beautiful greenspace we are so fortunate to have right in the heart of the city!
Jo Jamboree 2019! will take place on Saturday, June 8th and will include:
- Co-ed youth basketball clinic with former WNBA All-Star and Olympian, Tamika Catchings, and her Catch the Stars Foundation
- Soccer, volleyball and other sports clinics
- Fitness classes
- Wellness checks
- Healthy cooking demos
- Nutrition sessions
- And much, much more!
