Ways to Give

You can include Josephinum Academy in your will or trust, including living trusts and charitable remainder trusts. We recommend these provisions be discussed with your attorney and tax advisor.

In order to ensure that Josephinum Academy will benefit, you may use one of the following statements:

• I give ___% of my estate to Josephinum Academy.
• I give the remainder of my estate to Josephinum Academy.
• I give $___ to Josephinum Academy.
• I give my assets to my spouse if my spouse survives me. If he/she predeceases me, I give my assets to Josephinum Academy.

Life insurance policies can name Josephinum Academy as the beneficiary in full or in part. A gift of whole life insurance can be made to the school by naming the school as the irrevocable owner and beneficiary of the policy. Gifts of life insurance policies require charitable contributions from the donor to Josephinum Academy in the amount of any premiums, including unscheduled premiums, which may become due.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) or company plans, such as life insurance proceeds, may be left to Josephinum Academy by naming us as a beneficiary. Taxpayers age 70 ½ or older may transfer up to $100,000 annually from their IRA accounts directly to Josephinum Academy without first having to recognize the distribution as income. Pledges allow you to make a larger contribution with payments spread over a period of time. Reminders will be sent to you about your commitment on a schedule that is established by you if requested.

A thoughtful way of remembering someone special and creating a living legacy is making a gift to Josephinum in honor or in memory of an individual or a group.

Supporters of Josephinum can double their gift if their employer is a matching gifts company. To find out if your employer offers this valuable benefit, contact your human resources department.
