Fostering Curiosity, Creativity, and Character

At Josephinum, learning is dynamic, student-centered, and rooted in Sacred Heart values. Our rigorous curriculum encourages inquiry, creativity, and critical thinking while promoting collaboration and self-reflection. Faculty foster an engaging classroom environment that develops global perspectives and empowers students to become thoughtful, ethical learners.

Educating Leaders, Changemakers, and Peacemakers

Josephinum prepares students not only for college and career, but for lives of purpose and impact. Through a holistic approach to education, students grow as responsible citizens and compassionate leaders—ready to serve their communities, think boldly, and act with integrity as changemakers and peacemakers in the world.

Making Catholic Education Accessible

The THRIVE Scholarship covers full tuition for every incoming freshman at Josephinum Academy for the 2025–2026 school year, removing financial barriers and making a top-quality Catholic education accessible to more families across Chicago. Made possible through the generosity of donors, this opportunity supports students academically, spiritually, and personally. In return, recipients commit to active engagement in the Josephinum community through goal setting, leadership, and service.

To qualify, 8th grade applicants must complete the admissions process, including a completed application packet, an admissions application, and a FACTS application.

Living Values Through Service and Faith

Service is foundational at Josephinum, woven into both academic and spiritual life. Students participate in structured Service Learning, grounded in the Sacred Heart goals and providing opportunities for personal growth and social awareness through meaningful community outreach.

In Campus Ministry, students engage in service as part of retreats, prayer services, and activities that deepen their faith while exploring purpose beyond themselves.

Outside the classroom, community service events are a staple of student life, ranging from service days to retreats—empowering students to act with compassion and justice in real-world settings.

Celebrating Friendship, Identity, and Tradition

At Josephinum, our all-girls environment empowers students to lead with confidence, compassion, and independence. Here, young women’s voices are heard, celebrated, and nurtured—inside and outside the classroom.

Beyond academics, students immerse themselves in a vibrant community life filled with opportunities to explore their passions through arts, athletics, ministry, service, clubs, and more. From retreats to class trips and spirit week, Jo students grow together, form lasting friendships, and celebrate their unique identities in a supportive and joyful environment. At Josephinum, community isn’t just something you join—it’s something you help shape.
