Students who wish to attend a Catholic high school in Chicago should plan to take the Archdiocese High School Placement Exam, also known as the HSPT.
The HSPT will be held at Josephinum on Saturday, December 5 at 8:30 a.m. Registration opens November 13 and closes on December 4.
We do not charge an exam fee or registration fee for this test. If you take the test at Josephinum, it is free of charge.

Testing Accommodations
We want every student to have what she needs to succeed.
Josephinum will offer a time-and-a-half accommodation on the entrance exam for students with designated IEPs or 504 plans.
If a student is seeking this necessary accommodation, please submit the official IEP/504 documentation to [email protected] no later than December 4.
Exam Day Details
What to know before you arrive.
Arrival: Please arrive between 7:45 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. and check in at the Main Lobby.
What to bring: Please bring two #2 pencils with a working eraser.
Food & drinks: Students are free to bring a water bottle. No other food or drink will be permitted.
Testing time: Testing will take approximately 3 hours.
Cell phones: Students may bring their cellphone. They will have a designated break to contact their ride and provide a more specific estimated finish time. Phones must be turned off and put away completely during testing.
Not permitted: Calculators and translators are not permitted. Scratch paper will be provided.
