Making Catholic Education Accessible

The THRIVE Scholarship covers full tuition for every incoming freshman at Josephinum Academy for the 2025–2026 school year, removing financial barriers and making a top-quality Catholic education accessible to more families across Chicago. Made possible through the generosity of donors, this opportunity supports students academically, spiritually, and personally. In return, recipients commit to active engagement in the Josephinum community through goal setting, leadership, and service.

To qualify, 8th grade applicants must complete the admissions process, including a completed application packet, an admissions application, and a FACTS application.

Living Values Through Service and Faith

Service is foundational at Josephinum, woven into both academic and spiritual life. Students participate in structured Service Learning, grounded in the Sacred Heart goals and providing opportunities for personal growth and social awareness through meaningful community outreach.

In Campus Ministry, students engage in service as part of retreats, prayer services, and activities that deepen their faith while exploring purpose beyond themselves.

Outside the classroom, community service events are a staple of student life, ranging from service days to retreats—empowering students to act with compassion and justice in real-world settings.

At Josephinum, our all-girls environment empowers students to lead with confidence, compassion, and independence. Here, young women’s voices are heard, celebrated, and nurtured—inside and outside the classroom.

Beyond academics, students immerse themselves in a vibrant community life filled with opportunities to explore their passions through arts, athletics, ministry, service, clubs, and more. From retreats to class trips and spirit week, Jo students grow together, form lasting friendships, and celebrate their unique identities in a supportive and joyful environment. Join us for the "Strive to THRIVE" Student Aid Benefit and help kick off the THRIVE Student Fund. The THRIVE Student Fund is a bold new initiative that will ensure every Josephinum student has the resources she needs, not just to succeed...but to THRIVE! By supporting this event, you will have an immediate impact on a young woman's life and become an integral part of The Jo's next chapter.

Congratulations NHS Inductees

On October 21, Josephinum welcomed 11 new students to its National Honor Society (NHS) chapter. The annual induction ceremony, led by faculty advisor Eleanor Cory, was attended by the student body and guests of the inductees. A luncheon was held following the ceremony.

Join the Fine Arts Department for Two Annual Traditions

Josephinum's annual Art Show is December 11 from 3:45 - 7:00 p.m. in the Art Room. The fall play, The Lover’s Escape, is December 11-12 and will be presented by our Sophomore class. Performances begin each night at 6:30 p.m. with an approximate run time of 1 hour.
